Bob Adams started his boiler career in Atlanta, GA at Automatic Coal Burning Corporation, cleaning out coal-fired boilers. After the death of the owner, Automatic Coal Burning Corporation eventually was renamed to Heat Power and Equipment Company. Consequently, they shared a building with another boiler company named Applied Engineering.
Bob goes to work for Applied Engineering Company. Applied was headquartered out of Orangeburg, SC and represented Cleaver-Brooks in South Carolina and Georgia. John Merriott and Sid Snow hired Bob and put him to work in their service department, starting boilers in Southern Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina. It was during this time that Bob converted hundreds of burners from fuel oil fired burners to natural gas due to a gas line being installed in the South.
Bob Adams joins George K. Moss and moves to Birmingham, AL. Both men left Applied Engineering to start the George K. Moss Company in Birmingham, AL, becoming the first Cleaver-Brooks representative in Alabama.
Bob leaves George K. Moss Company and starts ADCO Boiler Company. Today, it is known as im电竞APP, LTD.
ADCO performs a large project at a military base in Huntsville, AL and purchases many Industrial Combustion Burners. As a result, ADCO becomes the Industrial Combustion Representative – ADCO’s first product line.
Joe Adams, second generation, came to work full time. Joe started out working in sales. He managed the office, scheduled customer calls and went out on calls when necessary.
ADCO purchases its first building at 3015 Sixth Avenue South in Birmingham, AL with space for offices and warehouse space for parts.
ADCO begins representing Superior Boiler and BFS Systems Incorporated.
John Willis joins ADCO Boiler Company as the first sales person responsible for capital equipment sales.
ADCO builds the first trailer mounted rental boiler.
ADCO names Joe Adams as President and opens an office in Huntsville, AL.
ADCO begins a relationship with Nationwide Boiler and is selected as a Grundfos pump representative.
ADCO moves corporate headquarters to a new location on 5 acres at 3657 Pine Lane in Bessemer, AL. The building includes 10,000 square feet of office space and 15,750 square feet of warehouse along with a 20-ton crane.
Cleaver-Brooks selects ADCO as their manufacturer’s representative for Alabama, the FL Panhandle and Southern Louisiana. John Willis is named as VP of sales and moves to Baton Rouge, LA to start the new operation in Southern Louisiana.
ADCO opens an office in Mobile, AL.
Taylor Adams, 3rd Generation, starts career at ADCO.
ADCO expands crane space at the corporate headquarters by adding a 50’ x 75’ addition to the building.
Cleaver-Brooks expands ADCO’s territory by including North Louisiana and Armstrong International selects ADCO to represent products in Alabama. ADCO moves the Baton Rouge office to Denham Springs, LA where the site includes a 2 acre lot, 3,650 square feet of office space and another 5,100 square feet of shop space.
ADCO names Taylor Adams as President and expands the rental fleet to include brand new Cleaver-Brooks boilers in trailers and containers.
ADCO celebrates 50-year Anniversary.
